Originally from New Jersey, and a graduate of the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Bob Malone developed his style during five years on the Southern California blues circuit. He won the 1995 Boston Acoustic Underground Award (best male) and the 1996 Falcon Ridge Folk Festival new artist competition. Bob was also a finalist in the 1995 and 1996 Kerrville Folk Festival and the 1996 Nappa Valley Music Festival new artist competitions. His first CD, The Darkest Part of the Night, sold out of its first pressing after being released in December, 1995. Bob is featured on the Loudon Wainwright III 50th birthday tribute album, He’s Alright, released in 1996. Bob continues to tour the country, playing legendary venues such as The Bluebird Café in Nashville, The Bitter End in NYC, The Troubadour in Los Angeles, and Passim in Boston.
