was a legendary singer-songwriter and storyteller, and for 70 years, until his death on September 30, 2016, he was the host
of Folksong Festival (the longest running radio show with a single host) on WNYC in New York.
Everybody who was anybody in the folk world appeared on Oscar's show.
And Oscar was a very good friend of WFMA, participating in many of our annual concerts, as well as several solo concerts.
We will miss his stories, songs and humor.
It is an honor to be able to present a concert celebrating his life and his numerous contributions to the world of folk music.
