The Finale

As end of the concert drew near, a special presentation was made to Tom by his music publisher, Cherry Lane Music. Filling in for Milt Okun, President of Cherry Lane, Dan Rosenbaum, Vice-President, Creative & Marketing, presented Tom with a plaque commemorating Tom's long lasting relationship with Cherry Lane. The plaque included a handwritten copy of Tom's The Marvelous Toy, the first song published by Cherry Lane. The inscription read: Presented to Tom Paxton, the first writer signed to Cherry Lane Music Publishing, in commemoration of a unique partnership that spans decades and over 700 songs. Congratulations on your extraordinary career. It’s been a marvelous journey.

Tom then invited the all of the performers on stage and all of the audience to join in singing two of his "standards", The Last Thing On My Mind and Rambling Boy.

Then the concert came to an end, the way it began, with everyone singing How Beautiful Upon the Mountain.
