repertoire ranges from romance to satire and from riveting emotional issues to self-deprecating silliness.  He sings about the real world in songs of: love, humor, childhood, friendship, marriage, parenthood, blended families, justice, environmental issues, and other contemporary topics.  O’Doherty grew up in a musical family.  He learned to sing and play the piano, banjo, and guitar at an early age.  In high school, sang in folk and acoustic rock groups with his brother Liam Tomas O’Doherty and friends.  Soon he was writing his own songs and, in college, performed at many campus coffeehouses in the Middle Atlantic states, and later, in the clubs of Greenwich Village, California, and New England.  He has opened for such singers as Christine Lavin, Cosy Sheriden, Noel Paul Stookey, Cheryl Wheeler, and many others.


is a Virginia based multi-­-instrumentalist, singer-­-songwriter.  He writes music that blends elements of folk, bluegrass and rock.  His latest album Working to Build is about our efforts to rebuild after things have been broken.  It's about taking trips down into your heart and being changed.  About doubt and truth and it's the ache we feel for something better to come.  It's about taking all the scattered pieces and making something of a home to invite people in to.  He is currently working on a new project due out next spring.


Playing their own blend of Bluegrass, Country, Blues, Folk, and Americana Roots music, the is a band based in the Washington DC Metro Area.  Performing at local venues, regional festivals and other events, the group is sure to please Bluegrass and “Newgrass” lovers everywhere.  The band met in Alexandria, VA at the Tiffany Tavern, a venerable Bluegrass staple in the Old Town area….hence Old Town Tradition was born.  Members of the band range in both age and geography, and each brings their own flavor to the mix.  Marlo Lewis has been tearing up the Mandolin for over seven years.  Also a singer and avid guitar player, Marlo is originally from Scarsdale, NY.  Pamela Ferguson is a freelance violinist who plays classical, jazz, klezmer, and now bluegrass!  She also teaches classical violin privately and in the public schools.  Brian Renzella is originally from near Wheeling, WV.  Brian is a self-taught has been playing banjo for over 20 years and has lived in the DC area for most of his life.  He was a founding member of The Pluckers from which the Old Town Tradition grew.  John Werntz hails from the Philadelphia area where he learned to play the upright and electric bass.  He learned bluegrass music playing with Whetstone Run in State College, PA.  Klaus Christoph has played bass and guitar in many local bands for over 40 years, settling finally on the 5-string banjo after a chance gift led him the way of the high lonesome sound!
