According to a recent review, “Jim Post has an enormous talent. A gift.” Described as “a mixture of Glenn Yarbrough of the old Limeliters and John Denver and The Weavers all rolled into one,” Post recently presented his show “Mark Twain and the Laughing River” in the Grand Opera House of his hometown of Galena, Illinois, and is said to have “grasped the core of Twain's greatness.” With musical hightlights in the show, Post has written very effective, melodic folk songs that punctuate the story - emotional and funny and reflective in turns - and he has the voice of an angel. Jim Post, it seems, understands Twain, and you don’t become Mark Twain without reaching into the people’s hearts and squeezing at the universal experiences.
