John McVey made "the best decision of my life" when he moved to Nashville in the fall of 1995. Since making the move, he was a winner at the Kerrville New Folk competition and was named the National Academy of Songwriters "Acoustic Artist of the Year." His debut CD, Circle of Friends was released on the BWE Music label, and he's become a respected member of Nashville's songwriting community. He has appeared on The Performing Songwriter magazine's compilation disc, Editor's Choice - Top 12 DIYs - Volume 2 and is featured in the magazine's March/April '96 issue. Rod Kennedy, founder of the Kerrville Folk Festival, says, "John McVey is a refreshing change from the expected!"
