Changeling is a musical duo which transports listeners to an Irish house party, where energetic tunes, songs and stories draw audience members into the living tradition of Irish music. Changeling’s members are Deborah Clark Colón (fiddle and vocals) and Karl Colón (vocals, guitar and stories). One fan described them as “The power of ten in a package of two,” with an energetic sound reflected in their most recent recording Siofra. Their powerful blend of drive, sensivitity and soul has won Changeling friends and fans at clubs and festivals throughout the Eastern U.S. Deborah’s skill and emotional depth have earned her national recognition in Irish and Scottish circles for her fiddling on blistering reels, danceable jigs and beautiful slow airs. In addition to Siofra, she has recorded two albums with Inisheer and appears on several other CDs, most recently with Karl and the Gabriel Hounds on their new release, The Wild Hunt. Karl’s songs, stories and humor have delighted audiences across the country. His driving guitar rhythms and hamonies propel the traditional dance sets that Changeling call “The Get-Down-and-Party Music of the Eighteenth Century.”
