The late Steve Goodman, with whom Saul performed and recorded for many years, described Saul Broudy as “an entertainer and commuincator of the first order … Saul Broudy joins Ry Cooder, David Bromber, Ken Bloom, Taj Mahal, Lew London, David Amram and so many others who are working to bring what is great about American music to the forefront of everyone’s consciouness.” Saul’s career spans almost 20 years of performance in virtually every major folk music venue in the United States, Canada, and many European countries. He is a veteran performer on the folk scene, singing country, blues, bluegrass and other traditional and contemporary forms of grassroots American music, accompanying himself on acoustic guitar and harmonica. Saul’s performances are known for his stunning harmonica playing and he’s been a harmonica sideman on 19 albums to date. His solo record Travels With Broudy samples the full range of his repertoire and brings together an outstanding group of accompanists.
