Artisan

Jacey and Brian Bedford, together with Hilary Spencer were Artisan, a vocal trio from Yorkshire who had been acclaimed as "quite simply the best harmony group around." They presented their own brand of vocal entertainment, close harmony songs spiced with healthy good humour. Artisan's songs are serious, silly and subtle in turn, performed with genuine passion. In a live setting, their magic vocals and lively stage presence enthralled audiences from Vancouver to Washington, D.C. They've played major North American festivals such as Bethlehem Musikfest, Philadelphia, Vancouver and Winnipeg Folk Festivals. Their performance had all the zing of contemporary cabaret combined with the honest appeal of "unplugged" acoustic music. They have been compared to Clannad, Flying Pickets and Manhattan Transfer and one review described them as "like the King's Singers on speed"! However, Artisan fought off pigeonholes and classed themselves as "entertainers." They were unique.
