For 13 years the World Folk Music Association has been sponsoring a monthly showcase that provides new folk performers the oportunity to perform before an audience of folk music fans. Radio personality Dick Cerri continues to host this exciting evening of folk and acoustic music which features up-and-coming folk/acoustic performers from the Washington, DC area and around the country.
Since December, 1983, more than 500 performers have appeared on Music Americana Showcases, including Christine Lavin, Schooner Fare, Greg Brown, Patty Larkin, David Mallett, the Chenille Sisters, Bill Danoff, Anne Hills, Cheryl Wheeler, Steve Gillette, Paul Stookey, Mary Chapin Carpenter, and Bob Gibson.
To celebrate 13 years of promoting up-and-coming folk music performers the World Folk Music Association held a very special Anniversary Showcase on December 18, 1996 at Bad Habits Grille in Arlington, VA
